THE ISLAND OF BLODHUR

Rising like a Kraken from the Bay of Blood, the island of Blodhur is the caldera of a dead volcano. Gritty, gray shale makes up the beach of its crescent-shaped harbor. Towering cliffs host waterfalls that tumble into the sea. Pummeled by raging storms, surrounded by jagged rock formations, and often veiled in fog, the island is not welcoming. It has a bloody history filled with greed, slavery, and war, along with tales of undead pirates and sea monsters. No wonder so many believe it cursed. Ship captains give Blodhur a wide berth, and only the bravest, or most desperate, ever drop anchor near its shores.

Places of interest include:

  • The Tower: Built generations before, the squat, stone tower was made to last. Aside from abandoned mines, it is the only known, permanent structure on the island.

  • The Northern Plateau: Rolling grassland often veiled in mist that seems to go on forever; instead, it drops off suddenly from cliffs that rise 3,000 feet above the sea.
