WAKAN

Wakan is the breadbasket of eastern Aeralon. Rolling plains of wheat, rye, and grasslands stretch for miles west from the Himmikta Hills to the forests and hills that border Torrudheim to the east. Dozens of farms dot the northern edge of Eldingard into Wakan, and the Wakani people peacefully trade with both nations. Wakan borders the elven kingdom of Aglaranna as well. Wakani and elves have shared the land and its resources since the beginning of time.

The Wakani are comprised of two indigenous human tribes, the Lachii and the Jumay. The Lachii dwell on the Hialeah Plateau and within the Wakaigin Cliffs. They are nomadic tribes who follow the north-south migration of aurochs. The wooly, herd animals spend the warm months on the plateau and then head south to the Gedegeh Plains for cold weather.

The Jumay farm the Gedageh Plains. Their settlements are more permanent suiting their agricultural lifestyle, but the tribes work together for the benefit of the entire population. The Lacchi provide meat, pelts, and leathers while the Jumay have grain, fruits, and herbs. The Lacchi shepard the Auroch should they head south before the Jumay have finished the harvest, and the Jumay have lodges within their settlements for the Lacchi tribes to stay in when winters become overly severe, or should their lands come under attack.
