Faegyrskata

Faegyrskata, meaning ‘beauty’s allotment’, is a vast, beautiful forested area. In the south there is a tropical rainforest. Once every three months, the sweltering heat completely dries up the area, while the next three months flood the land creating new rivers all heading toward the northern lands and seas. In the center are ancient forests where the trees are as wide as castles and may be close to 1,000 feet tall. The eastern part gets lots of rain, with most of Faegyrskata being temperate rainforest. On its high eastern borders, the mountains lessen the rainfall in the area, as well as keep out adventurers. It is not unusual for the passes to be blocked for months at a time. Cool winds come from the northwestern direction. They are blocked by the eastern mountains, and swirl south where they are heated up, causing frequent storms.

Forest clearings are sparse, and many are only large enough for one or two farms. Consequently, many of the settlements are isolated in the extreme. The largest of them being Talesendil, which isn’t even a city by the standards of human settlements. Druids and rangers frequent the area, and it is popular with elves, fey, half-elves, and humans with a more naturalistic bent.

Points of interest include:

  • Talesendil Castle: Sitting on a hill high above the forests, the Castle is ancient and big enough to house the entire population of Faegyrskata.

  • Talesendil City: A work of elven art, much of the city is built in the branches of massive, ancient trees.

  • Wazouli’s Botanical Emporium Camp: A migratory group of druids and wizards who travel through the jungle researching the seemingly endless variety of flora and fauna.

  • Velshirim Logging Camp: Located on the southern coast and surrounded by thick jungle. Lord Velshirim’s workers log and mill wood.

  • Daltonsree: A small farm and trading settlement in the Quira Mountains. Those wishing to travel the mountain passes will find the best guides there.
