INGERSOL

The Dragon Queen, Tyrathrax Eldreka, once ruled a domain stretching from the southern Bay of Blood through eastern Hala, and the eastern half of what is now Kjorgerdem. Her territory was a bastion of monsters. Fire giants built her capital, Black Spires, from volcanic rock harvested from the magical soil of Mount Istochnik making the city invulnerable to the volcano’s frequent eruptions and lava flows. The southern Bay of Blood roils and steams from the constant rivulets of magma that seep down the mountainside, killing off the fish and other marine animals that cannot withstand the boiling water. This was the nation of Tarasca less than a century ago.

While the combined armies of Torrudheim, Eldingard, Kjorgerdem, and Aglaranna marched to the base of Mt. Istochnik and battled the dragon’s monstrous forces, a handful of adventurers slew the Dragon Queen. In the end, it was the paladin of Aden, Konungur Pwyll, heir to the throne of Kjorgerdem who struck the fatal blow and ended the reign of the great, red wyrm.

Pwyll was crowned High King of eastern Aeralon for his brave deed. His first act as king was to send his surviving army to chase any remaining monsters back into the dark places of the world, from whence they came. Once the land became relatively safe, Pwyll carved Tarasca into a much smaller domain, which he renamed ‘Ingersol’, in honor of his father who died during the Battle of Mt. Istochnik. Pwyll then appointed a council of the fair races, two humans, an elf, a dwarf, and a gnome, to rule the port city of Black Spires. Tarasca fell, and Ingersol is no longer a land of monsters… for now.
